King Boo is the leader of the Boos and ghosts, and is Luigi's archenemy. He is one of the villains from the Metallix Saga set to appear at some point. It is currently unknown when or where the heroes will encounter him.

- King Boo's storyline replaces the Minus World storyline from the 2006 series of Super Mario Bros. Z.
- It is unknown if King Boo will have any followers in the series. Previously his main collaborators include Boolossus, Bogmire, Vincent Van Gore, the five Possessors, Hellen Gravely and her Polterkitty.
- Haynes confirmed that the gemstone in King Boo's crown is in fact the Purple Chaos Emerald.
