Kamek is Bowser's right-hand man and an antagonist in Super Mario Bros. Z. He serves Bowser in his plans to kidnap Princess Peach.

Kamek is an elderly Magikoopa who wears a pair of round spectacles and a set of blue robes, complete with a blue wizard's hat.

Metallix Saga[]
Kamek made his debut in the series in the Metallix Saga. He assisted Bowser in his attack on the first Mushroom Kingdom Smash Tournament, introducing Bowser to the public. He stood by as Bowser announced his plan to fight and defeat Mario once and for all. After Bowser recovered from Mario's assault during the fight, Kamek was called for his assistance. With a magic spell, Kamek conjured a Metal Mushroom and gave it to Bowser, who ate it and transformed into Metal Bowser. In this new form, Bowser dominated Mario and defeated him before preparing to finish him and Luigi off with a massive fire breath.
When a mysterious capsule appeared out of thin air and crashed down on Bowser, it broke his metal shell. The Koopa King asked Kamek for another Mushroom, but Kamek complained about them being out of stock, which angered Bowser. However, Bowser was overpowered by Mario, thanks to a 1-Up Mushroom from Luigi. As Mario was about to finish off Bowser, Kamek intervened, holding the Princess hostage. Despite Peach's plea to keep fighting, Mario stood down. Kamek then threatened to turn Peach into a Goomba unless Mario cooperated. He then cheered Bowser on to finish Mario before being attacked by a hedgehog that emerged from the capsule and kicked away into the distance.
Bowser would end up losing to Mario because of this, though he did not blame Kamek for it, and was later brought back to his castle. Due to his injuries, Kamek attempted to heal him with Blaargatail soup, which proved to not work, since it was too cold for the King's tastes. Kamek was then ordered to go back to the kitchen to make a better attempt at making the soup.

Being a Magikoopa, Kamek knows an array of magical spells, including gigantification and conjuring powerups.
