A Snowboard is an item used in the Sonic series. In SMBZ Episode 6, Sonic used it to slide down one of the ice covered mountains on Yoshi's Island.
Appearances in the Sonic Series[]
Sonic the Hedgehog 3[]
Sonic first used a snowboard in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 at the Ice Cap Zone. After leaving Carnival Night Zone, Sonic is blasted from a cannon and hits a snowboard. He rides it down a steep

slope until he hits an ice wall and the ride ends. The player can jump while on the snowboard, however it doesn't do much of anything useful.
Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure DX[]
On the Ice Cap Mountain Stage, Sonic reaches a deep slope, when an avalanche begins. Sonic then finds a snowboard and descends down the slope. The player can move around to collect rings while snowboarding, and can help Sonic do stunts on checkered ramps. At the end of the hill, Sonic gets off the snowboard and collects the Chaos Emerald.
Tails' mission is to snowboard down the mountain and beat Sonic to the Emerald. He doesn't do the first parts of the stage.
Sonic Advance[]
During the Special Stages, Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, or Amy Rose have to snowboard down a long tube and collect rings whilst avoiding bombs. If not enough rings are collected, they'll fall down back to the normal stage.

Every character in Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games can participate in the Snowboarding event to see who gets first place in. the Snowboarding event takes place in both the Wii and DS version.
In Super Mario Bros. Z[]
Episode 6[]
In Episode 6, Sonic used a snowboard to snowboard down a mountain on Yoshi's Island. Sonic hit Axem Yellow doing a stunt and Yellow ended up in a giant snowball. Sonic did another trick to get behind the snowball to avoid it from pushing him off. Sonic's snowboard was destroyed when Axem Red destroyed the mountain with the Breaker Beam charged by the Purple Chaos Emerald.
It is unknown why Sonic used a snowboard to get down the mountain. If it was either faster, safer, or yet simply more fun is yet to be determined.
